2014 was a strong year for Meridian investors. Many individuals were privy to new opportunities within multiple locations around Australia. In total Meridian investors acquired almost $75 million dollars worth of property in 2014 with each and every investment being carefully selected to comply with the Meridian Research Model.
Each of the opportunities was selected based on a strong and very specific list of criteria that has been proven over the years. Just like each client Meridian assists, each opportunity is different. Most opportunities are selected based on strong capital growth drivers, in secure markets. With these opportunities Meridian have been able to mitigate risk using thorough market research and an understanding of the local demographic to give a clear view of the expected direction of the given market.
Some of the opportunities chosen by Meridian investors were chosen because the market had just completed a large period of correction and Meridian was able to secure prices well below the current market values for our clients. It was clear that these opportunities were purchased with considerable built in equity but that the market may not go through a growth cycle in the immediate future.
In 2014, as is true for all years, there were periods of challenge, as some investors had to turn focus to overcoming their own personal roadblocks to building their property portfolios. With the assistance of Meridian consultants and staff, 2014 has been an excellent year to demonstrate that most roadblocks are only temporary and, with the right education and support, can be overcome.
